Physical properties*:
Vigour and vibrancy strikes deep in to your being with this refreshing spagyric. In TCM orange peel is used to get stuck qi (life force) moving again, stuck qi can generate or be indicated by the following symptoms: abdominal pain, acid reflux, bloating, nausea, stomach ache; phlegm in your lungs, bronchioles and nasal passages; and, ache and stiffness in muscles and joints due to accumulated toxins in the blood and lymph – particularly useful for clearing abscesses in the breast . Orange peel will also disperse liver heat. All citrus peels contain limonene, hesperidin, polyphenols, flavonoids and Vitamin C in high quantities, these constituents help reduce oxidative stress, and glycation (the abnormal bonding of proteins caused by excess of sugars, leading to tissue malfunction and deterioration – orange peel is thus anti-aging.

Orange is definitely an anti-depressant, where we feel our life lacks colour Orange can bring it’s luminous solar warmth whilst simultaneously balming and moistening those aspects of our psyche that have become parched and drab. I also find it particularly useful for rising cheerily beyond our limiting beliefs, rather than having to push through with some form of inner bravado, this wave of sweet juiciness just washes the old away, that slightly tart twinge in its flavour being that spark point for the new… yum yum.
