Immune bolster:
A formula of 8 herbs designed to be taken as a preventative measure to keep Sars-Cov-2 at bay, strengthening the immune system and key areas of the body such as the upper respiratory tract, lungs and spleen which are first points of contact for the virus*. Note that is NOT meant to be taken DURING an episode of Sars-Cov-2 as one of the primary ingredients (astragalus) may cause the infection to last longer than it would otherwise – metaphorically speaking astragalus makes the fortress walls strong, but that can incidentally keep the enemies inside. If you contract a case of Covid please switch to either our ‘Viral Infection Intervention’ or ‘Spikeshield’ products for use during a bout of Sars-Cov-2.
Recommended dosage 13 drops 3 times a day or 18 drops twice a day.
Temperature and moisture balanced ingredients list: Astragalus (warm, moist), mulberry leaf (cool oily), banksia (cooling, drying throughout body besides respiratory tracts), codonopsis (neutral, slightly moistening), goji (warming, nourishes fluids but not moistening or drying), common mallow (cool moist), rosemary (warming), pine bark (warming drying).
Astragalus: Astragalus membranaceus. during covid has used in 13 prevention programs (in Beijing, Tianjin, et al.) for “reinforcing vital qi”, a terminology used in TCM that is similar to boosting host defense capacity.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7098036/ A highly regio- and stereo-specific acetyltransferase, AmAT19, was discovered from Astragalus membranaceus. It has a high capacity for acetylation and acetylated products 1a, 3a and 4a remarkably increased the inhibitory activity against the 3-chymotrypsin-like protease (3CLpro) of SARS-CoV-2. https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2021/ob/d1ob01106e/unauth Antiviral effect: Published studies have reported that astragaloside IV has anti-human adenovirus type 3 (HAdV-3) capacity, and the underlying mechanisms. are inhibition of HAdV-3 replication and HAdV-3- induced apoptosis.[57] It also reduced eosinophil and lymphocyte infiltration. It was observed that it modulates Th1/2 immune balance and activates peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors. Effect on cardiovascular system: In rats with isoprenaline-induced myocardial ischemia, it has been noted that astragaloside IV showed a calcium antagonistic effect, inhibiting calcium overload due to ischemia and hypoxia. https://jag.journalagent.com/tkd/pdfs/TKDA_48_4_410_424%5BA%5D.pdf
Mulberry Leaf:In a study of 10 flavonoids (3 of which are in Mulberry leaves), these antiviral and anti-inflammatory flavonoids were docked to analyze the binding mode having the least binding energy. Interestingly, all of them showed extremely great binding affinity with Covid-19 and receptor sites when compared to that of the standard current drug, dexamethasone.https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1319562X20306136 Another study showed that Mulberry leaves reduced the viral titer and cytopathogenic effects (CPE) of SARS-Cov-2. It also showed that one of its main components kuwanon G reduced the cell viability of Sars-Cov-2 viruses in a dose dependent manner. https://www.mdpi.com/1420-3049/25/8/1876
Banksia:Has been used by the indigenous peoples of Australia to ease dryness in the throat, strengthen the lungs and increase general immune function.
Common Mallow: The leaves and flower buds contain mucus, tannins, flavonoids, essential oil, vitamin C and other substances. The anthocyanin glycoside malvin, a naturally occurring chemical, is only found in the flowers. Malva sylvestris is used traditionally as an herbal remedy for asthma, bronchitis, coughing, throat infections and emphysema. Ensures that the mucosal membrane of the entire respiratory tract remains moist. When the respiratory system is more lubricated it has greater ability to catch foreign pathogens which can then be eliminated by other immune system components. Balances drying herbs of the formula.
Goji Berries:Goji Berries contain polysaccharides that are very helpful in fighting infections. Other studies reported that polysaccharides of the plant exhibit immunomodulation and antioxidant properties along with other various pharmacological activities. It activated local and systemic immune responses in H22 tumor-bearing mice, improved immune responses when used as an adjuvant with vaccines, and enhanced humoral immunity. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8155592/Goji berries have been shown to significantly reduce the severity and duration of influenza infections.https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0163725821001236
Codonopsis:
In a recent study titled “Analysis of Medical Cases of Coronavirus Disease-2019 Treated with Haoqin Qingdantang” Codonopsis was added to the TCM formula ‘Haoqin Qingdantang’ to nourish the spleen and stomach, strengthen vital qi and to eliminate the pathogenic factor (Covid-19). Codonopsis pilosula polysaccharide (CP), a bioactive component in Codonopsis pilosula, it enhances the content of SOD and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) in the liver and reduces the level of TNF-α in serum of mice with hepatic injury induced by bacille-calmette-guerin/LPS – this reduction in oxidative stress enables the body to effectively detox itself from greater viral loads and have a less stagnant/congested immune and lymphatic system. In TCM this plant has been used for thousands of years to treat fatigue, anaemia, low appetite, palpitations, toxin build-up, stomach problems, diabetes, memory loss, weak lungs and weak spleens (the part of the digestive system that converts food in to body-useable energy). It nourishes the blood and is an immune tonic. Codonopsis contains a high volume and variety of polysaccharides, which provide significant immune boosting and modulating properties (maintaining T-Cell balance, balancing the bodies microbiomes and killing tumours), being potent antioxidants with the ability to scavenge toxic catalytic transition metals from the body also. Oligosaccharides found in the herb, along with the polysaccharides have been shown to reduce oxidative stress and increase bodily concentrations of glutathione (an antioxidant produced by the body).
Pine Bark: Contains Pycnogenol which has demonstrated anti-inflammatory, vascular and endothelium-protective effects in over 90 human clinical studies. Unlike other SARS viruses, SARS-CoV2 does not solely impact the respiratory system, but additionally leads to inflammation of endothelial cells, microvascular injuries and coagulopathies, thereby affecting multiple organs. It is proposed that Pycnogenol may be beneficial in supporting recovery and mitigating symptoms and long-term consequences resulting from a SARS-CoV2 infection in COVID-19 patients. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0924857920303976
Rosemary: Strong antiviral immunomodulator. Contains: β-caryophyllene which is recognized to exhibit antiviral activity. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13659-020-00253-1 Contains rosemarinic acid, oleanic acid, and ursolic acid which have been shown to inhibiting the COVID-19 main protease. Lavender: Highly antibacterial herb who’s essential oils have been shown to kill a high percentage of covid-19 cells in vitro.
