Heartburn/Acid Reflux Sooth and Prevent*
A Spagyric Tincture formulation of: Gotu Kola, Plantain, Yarrow, Catnip, Horse Chestnut and Sage
This blend is intended to balance digestive fire and draw it downwards where it will serve to correctly break down food, simultaneously this formula will also help to tighten and tonify the various sphincters along the digestive tract, preventing acidic bile from rising up into the esophagus. Gotu Kola is the primary herb, being an excellent builder of connective tissues, ligaments, and more, this herb will help to create proper tension and elasticity in the esophageal sphincters. Plantain is another such mineral rich structuring herb which will strengthen the gut linings, the sphincters and move the liver. Yarrow is a carminative herb, meaning that it relieves wind and tension throughout the digestive system, though somewhat paradoxically it can help to tone tissues such as the sphincters if need be. Catnip is another carminative that has a special gift in its ability to redistribute bodily fire, we need a certain amount of digestive fire to digestive food properly, too little and too much can cause acid reflux. Catnip will help the digestive fire (acidic secretions) to keep food moving from the stomach to the small intestines. Horse chestnut is an incredibly bitter and astringent herb, both of these properties are perfect for acid reflux situations where the bitter property cools the rising digestive fire and the astringency tonifies the overly relaxed digestive sphincters. Sage is our final astringent tonifying herb and it has a particular affinity for the upper digestive tract and throat, help to send and keep the other herbs here – acting as the herbal driver in this formula.
Recommended dosing: 25-35drops in 25-50ml (1 shot) of water.
